If you couldn't guess from the title, October is the month of the Most Holy Rosary! This is a month when the Church really encourages us to blow the dust off those old beads and put them to use. October 7th marks the feast of the Most Holy Rosary, so consider praying a rosary to honor our mother on this particular day.
If you have any questions on how to pray the Rosary, this history of the Rosary, or where to get one, check out http://www.familyrosary.org/main/rosary-explanation.php for some good information. The rosary is one of the most peaceful and meditative prayers we can pray. It calls us to reflect on stages during Jesus' and Mary's lives while asking Mary to join us in prayer for the needs of our heart.
This month I ask you to give the rosary a try if you haven't for a while. Don't have a rosary on hand? It's no coincidence that you have ten fingers, I guess. Particularly as we go through this 40 Days for Life Campaign I'd encourage everyone to to pick up a humble set of beads to unleash the intercessory power of Mary, our mother and Queen of Heaven. Our mother, Mary, wants to be part of our lives...if you ask her to intercede for you, I can guarantee you that she will!
