Maybe you know your parish priest pretty well and the idea of telling him all the bad stuff about yourself isn’t exactly appealing. Not to worry, you don’t have to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation with him.
Any priest may perform this sacrament. If it makes you feel better then I encourage you to go across town, to another county, out of state, or however far you need to go to be comfortable confessing your sins. Don’t forget about the seal of confession, though. No matter how well a priest knows you; he may never tell a soul what he hears in the confessional.
