Scott Brown wins. Obamacare loses

Scott Brown won the special election for the late Ted Kennedy's Senate seat tonight which gives the Republicans in the Senate a filibuster-sustaining 41 votes which will make it very difficult to pass another version of the healthcare bill in the Senate!

The Senate had formerly passed a version that the USCCB had said was “completely unacceptable” because of abortion funding, lack of immigrant coverage, and lack of conscience protection for healthcare workers.

Granted, there are some options on the table for ramming the current legislation down America's throat but considering that Brown is the first Republican elected to the Senate in MA for 47 years; it may be an interesting sign of the times for the next election cycle in November 2010.
